Computer Learning Month
Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat are apps where we live our lives, but do you remember when laptops, tablets, and flip phones were new? They all evolved after desktop computers became commonplace and changed the world. October is Computer Learning Month, and in honor of that, we encourage members of our apartment community to learn something new — try a new app, learn a new program, build a new website — it’s all about the technology!
National Pizza Month
Did you know that October is National Pizza Month? To celebrate, we suggest either a visit to your favorite pizza restaurant here in Albuquerque, NM or making homemade pizza at your apartment. Try one of these 50 Easy Pizza Recipes we found online from Food Network. Happy National Pizza Month!
National Golf Day (October 4)
Take time out one weekend this month to hit the greens at an Albuquerque golf course in honor of National Golf Day. If you are a newcomer to the game, The Nike Golf Club is an awesome resource for any rookie golfer. Their website features tips from professional golfers like Rory McIlroy, Michelle Wie, Brooks Koepka, Patrick Rodgers, and Scott Pinckney. They also offer links so you can shop the pros’ gear.
National Gumbo Day (October 12)
October 12th is National Gumbo Day! Celebrate by making this rich and flavorful Chicken Shrimp & Sausage Gumbo to enjoy at your apartment this month. The recipe comes from Immaculate Bites and is loaded with chicken, sausage, shrimp, and crab legs. Gumbo is the perfect meal to warm you up on a chilly fall day. However you choose to celebrate, we hope you enjoy celebrating National Gumbo Day this year!

“Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Now, facing pressures from all sides of the community, Starr must find her voice and stand up for what's right.” Don’t miss this timely movie, adapted from Angie Thomas’ book of the same name. Opens in theaters October 19th.
Head to the theatre October 26th to see this drama. “Indivisible is the extraordinary true story of Army Chaplain Darren Turner and his wife Heather, whose lives are fully devoted to serving God, family and country. But when war etches deep battle scars-both overseas and on the home front-the Turners' rock-solid marriage is shaken to its core.”
“Through stories that are at once empathetic and unexpected, these women and girls defiantly push the boundaries between selfishness and self-possession. Fantastically written with a fresh voice and bold honesty, Back Talk examines the cultural narrowness of what it means to want as a woman.”
“Key West, 1936. Headstrong, accomplished journalist Martha Gellhorn is confident with words but less so with men when she meets disheveled literary titan Ernest Hemingway in a dive bar. Their friendship—forged over writing, talk, and family dinners—flourishes into something undeniable in Madrid while they’re covering the Spanish Civil War.”
